Bringing a Demogorgon to Life

Back in August, our family decided together that Halloween 2026 would be an ode to a show we love: Stranger Things. Years ago in our old house, we had decorated our garage door with a tarp that I made to look like the Christmas lights over alphabet backdrop so synonymous with the show. Thankfully I still had it. What I did not have was a Demogorgon and we really needed one this time around because we’re in year three of creating “spooky garage scenes” for trick or treaters to come up and take in.

So I dug around online for pictures and tutorials on how to DIY my own Demogorgon head. Watched a few Youtube videos. Then I got to work. The plan was simple: Take it as far as I could. The thought was that if I hit a hurdle with the project that seemed too big to clear, I’d just trash the idea and go another route. But that didn’t happen and I was so happy about how this came out. He even got his very own photoshoot and I got to play around with painting the light for it! 2026.
